Peter Pratt is an English actor and singer. He is known for his comical roles in the comic opera by Gilbert and Sullivan. Pratt began his career in the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company choir in 1945, moving on to small roles and then studying at Martyn Green, the lead actor. From 1951 to 1959, he was the company's lead actor, acclaimed by critics for his famous roles as a “model”. After leaving the company, he embarked on a career in theater, television, concert and radio, although he continued to play the roles of Gilbert and Sullivan throughout his career. Among his television roles, Pratt is the second actor to play the role of Master in the science fiction series Doctor Who.
