Father Anthony Holmes is a former American footballer who played 11 seasons in the National Football Federation. He plays college football for the University of Texas. He was signed by Baltimore Ravens as an untrained free player in 1997. Holmes won a Super Bowl ring with Raven in their 2001 Super Bowl XXXV win over the New York Giants. After running just over 2,000 yards in four seasons in Baltimore, Holmes achieved breakthrough success after signing Kansas City Chiefs as a freelance agent in 2001. During his seven years working as a freelance agent. with Chiefs, Holmes went on to become All-Pro three times, selected the Pro Bowl three times and was named NFL Attacker of the Year in 2002. Holmes missed the 2006 season with a neck injury, and After a brief effort back in 2007, he retired from the NFL. Holmes was also inducted into the University of Texas Hall of Honor and Texas High School Sports Hall of Fame in 2007.
