Robert Natus is an Estonian Baltic German architect. Born in Viljandi, Estonia, Natus studied in Tallinn and Riga. In 1939 Natus moved to Germany. His most famous work is the Tallinn Town Hall, built in 1932. With a red clinker mosaic facade and the lantern of Estonian sculptor Jaan Koort, it is the most important building around the Square. Freedom and the best example of the embodiment of the expressive school in Tallinn. The red clinker mosque was soon replicated on another famous Natus building on the corner of Pärnu and Roosikrantsi, a few hundred meters from the town hall. This building was inspired by Johann Friedrich Höger's Chilehaus in Hamburg. Natus also created a number of functional apartment buildings and private houses. In the 1920s Natus drew up general plans for the garden cities of Merivälja and Nõmme, both located just outside Tallinn. Natus died in Bad Wilsnack, Germany.
