Adedoyin Olayiwola "Ade" Adepitan is a British television presenter and wheelchair basketball player of Nigerian origin. As a presenter, he hosts travel documentaries and sports programs for BBC television. Adepitan was born in Lagos. As a newborn baby, he developed polio, which resulted in an injury to his leg that resulted in him being in a wheelchair. At the age of three, he moved with his family to Great Britain, where he grew up in East London. A wheelchair basketball player, he was a member of the England team that competed at the 2004 Paralympic Summer Olympics, winning a bronze medal. Participating in a variety of charities promoting access to sports for people with disabilities, in 2005 he was appointed a Member of the British Empire's Order of Sports Services for Persons with Disabilities. During the 2000s, Adepitan began appearing on British television. His first appearances include as an actor on the shows Casualty and Desperados.
