David Ivon Gower is an English cricket player and former cricketer who served as captain of the British cricket team in the 1980s. Described as one of the most elegant left-handed players of the era Gower played 117 practice matches and 114 international matches a day, scoring. 8,231 and 3,170 races, respectively. He was one of England's most successful and successful players of his time. Gower led England during Ashes 1985, and his team won; however, two strong 5–0 defeats to the West Indies reflected in his docks office, and Gower was replaced in 1986. He was briefly reinstated in the 1989 Ashes series, before being replaced as captain by Graham Gooch. The couple's strained relationship contributed to Gower's retirement from international cricket career in 1993. However, he ended up with an impressive first-class cricket record, amassing 26,339 runs 40.08 and 53 century average.
