Gary Charles "Gar" Samuelson is an American musician best remembered as the drummer for thrash metal band Megadeth from 1984 to 1987, featured on their first two albums, Killing Is My Business ... and Business Is Good! and Peace Sell ... but who's buying ?. He is considered one of the most influential drums in thrash metal, which pioneered the incorporation of jazz into the subgenre. Samuelson played for The New Yorkers for the first time, a period stretching from the late 70s to the early 80s. It is not known if the band actually released the document. After meeting Dave M Ben and Dave Ellefson of Megadeth in 1984, he was asked to join the group. Guitarist Chris Poland quickly followed suit and since then M Ben has called it "the first real lineup". Samuelson continued to be Megadeth's drummer until 1987. He appeared on the band's first two albums and performed with them on both tours.
