John Devon Roland "Jon" Pertwee is an English actor, comedian, entertainer and entertainer. Born into a theater family, he served in the Royal Navy and the Naval Intelligence Division during World War II. Early in his career, he worked as a stage actor, including performances at the Glasgow Empire Theater and bill sharing with Max Wall and Jimmy James. As an actor, Pertwee has appeared in numerous comedies, including four in the Carry On series, and he is widely known for having spent 18 years as Sheriff Pertwee in the popular sitcom The Navy Lark on BBC Radio. Pertwee played the Third Doctor in the Doctor Who science fiction television series from 1970 to 1974, and was the main character in the Worzel Gummidge television series. Towards the end of his life, he maintained a close relationship with Doctor Who by attending numerous fan conferences related to the series and giving interviews.
