Leslie Roy Mills is a retired New Zealand athlete and politician. He represented New Zealand at the Olympics and Commonwealth Games for more than two decades, competing on and off the court. At the 1966 Commonwealth and British Empire Games, he achieved his best, gold in the discus throw. Mills opened his first gymnasium in 1968 and gave his name to Les Mills International, a company founded by his son Phillip Mills. He was mayor of Auckland, New Zealand's largest city, from 1990 to 1998 .
