Maria Faustyna Kowalska, also known as St. Maria Faustyna Kowalska of the Blessed Sacrament and popularly spelled Faustina, was a Polish Catholic nun and mystic. His appearance of Jesus Christ inspired Roman Catholics to dedicate themselves to Divine Mercy and earned him the title of “Secretary of Mercy”. During her lifetime, Kowalska said that there were photos of Jesus and conversations with him, which she recorded in her diary, which was later published as The Diary by St. Maria Faustina Kowalska: Divine Mercy in My Soul. His biography, submitted to the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, cites several conversations with Jesus regarding devotion to Divine Mercy. At the age of 20, she joined a monastery in Warsaw. She was then transferred to Płock and then to Vilnius, where she met Father Michał Sopoćko, who would confess her and who supported her devotion to Divine Mercy.
