Murray Newton Rothbard is an Austrian school of economist, economic historian and unorthodox political theorist. Rothbard was the founder and principal theorist of anarchist capitalism, a staunch defender of revisionist history, and a central figure in the liberalism movement in 20th century America. He has written over twenty books on political theory, the history of revision, economics, and other subjects. Rothbard argued that any services provided by the “corporate state monopoly system” could be provided more efficiently by the private sector and wrote that the state was “an organization that steals the system on a large scale”. He called fractional reserve banking a form of central bank fraud and opposition. He strongly opposed any theism of military, political and economic interference in the affairs of other nations. According to its protector Hans-Hermann Hoppe, "[t] here there would be no anarchist capitalist movement strictly speaking without Rothbard".
