Tanavoli's works have been auctioned around the world, grossing more than $ 9 million in gross revenue, making him the most expensive living Iranian artist. His "Oh Persepolis" wall raised $ 2.84 million in a 2008 sale of Dubai Christie's, an auction record for a Middle Eastern artist.
