Paul John Ferris is a Scottish author and a former figure in organized crime. Ferris was the executor of Arthur Thompson's “Godfather” in Glasgow in the early 1980s. Known for his cruelty and extreme violence, he established himself in the city's criminal underworld. He was sentenced to prison for possession of a weapon in 1984 and believes he was betrayed by Thompsons. In 1991, Thompson's son Arthur Jr was shot dead. Ferris was charged with murder and later convicted after the longest criminal trial in Scottish history at the time. He was again imprisoned from 1998 to 2002 for selling firearms and possession of explosives. Ferris also got into a feud with Tam McGraw. His first book was published in 2001 while he was in prison. Since his release from prison, he has written three more books on crime and has been involved in security.
