Robert Joseph Shea is an American novelist and former journalist best known as a co-author with Robert Anton Wilson of the Illuminatus! It became a hit and was later adapted into a marathon theatrical show performed at the National Theater of England and elsewhere. In 1986, he won the Prometheus Hall of Fame Award. Shea continues to write a number of action novels based on bizarre historical settings.
