He is known for his lead role as Malik El Djebena in the 2009 Jacques Audiard award-winning French film A Prophet, FBI Agent Ali Soufan in The Looming Tower, Judas in Mary Magdalene and as Charles Sobhraj in the series The Serpent. Completed in 2021. Rahim showed off his multilingual skills and accent, he performed in Corsican and Arabic alongside French in A Prophet and Scottish Gaelic for his role as Prince of the Seal in Kevin Macdonald's The Eagle. In 2021, he reunites with Macdonald for The Mauritanian. His performance as Mohamedou Ould Salahi was widely acclaimed by critics and named Actor of the Year at the London Film Critics Association Awards and Best Actor - Drama at the 78th Golden Globe Awards. In 2021, he also starred in the crime miniseries The Serpent.
