Gareth Charles Walter Morris è stato un flautista britannico. È stato il principale flautista di numerose orchestre londinesi, tra cui la Boyd Neel Orchestra, prima di unirsi alla Philharmonia Orchestra. È stato il flautista principale di questa orchestra per 24 anni e professore di flauto alla Royal Academy of Music dal 1945 al 1985. Morris era noto per l'utilizzo di un flauto di legno, in un momento in cui la maggior parte degli altri musicisti era passata all'uso di flauti di metallo. Gareth Morris è nato a Clevedon, Somerset, Inghilterra ed è stato educato alla Bristol Cathedral Choir School. Ha iniziato a suonare il flauto all'età di 12 anni, e successivamente ha studiato privatamente con Robert Murchie. A 18 anni ha vinto una borsa di studio alla Royal Academy of Music dove il suo principale insegnante era Charles Stainer. All'Accademia ha incontrato Dennis Brain ed è diventato il suo amico per tutta la vita. Morris è stato testimone del matrimonio di Brain.
