John Verity è un chitarrista inglese che ha lavorato in precedenza per il gruppo Argent dal 1974 al 1976. Quando gli Argent si sciolsero, fondò i Phoenix con Bob Henrit e Jim Rodford. Il gruppo ha registrato tre album con la CBS Records e ha girato l'Europa prima di prendere strade separate.
