David Hunter Hubel is een Canadees-Amerikaanse neurofysioloog die vooral bekend is vanwege het bestuderen van de structuur en functie van de visuele cortex. Samen met Torsten Wiesel ontving hij in 1981 de Nobelprijs voor de Fysiologie of Geneeskunde voor hun ontdekkingen met betrekking tot informatieverwerking in visuele systemen. Het grootste deel van zijn carrière was Hubel hoogleraar neurobiologie aan het John Franklin Enders College, Harvard Medical School.
