James Simon Wallis Hunt is een Engelse coureur die in 1976 het wereldkampioenschap Formule 1 won. Nadat hij in 1979 stopte met racen, werd Hunt mediacommentator en zakenman. Hunt begon zijn racecarrière in de toerwagenraces en stapte over naar de Formule 3, waar hij de aandacht trok van het Hesketh Racing-team en zich snel bij hun gelederen voegde. Hunt's vaak roekeloze en actievolle trailprestaties hebben hem de bijnaam "Hunt the Shunt" opgeleverd. Hunt kwam in 1973 in de Formule 1 en bestuurde de auto in maart 731, samen met het Hesketh Racing-team.
