Mark Allen Mothersbaugh is een Amerikaanse zanger, songwriter, componist, multi-instrumentalist, producer, auteur en beeldend kunstenaar. Mothersbaugh kreeg bekendheid aan het eind van de jaren zeventig als mede-oprichter, leadzanger en toetsenist van de new wave-band Devo, wiens "Whip It" in 1980 een Top 20-single was in de VS en die sindsdien een cultstatus heeft behouden. Mothersbaugh is een van de belangrijkste componisten van Devo's muziek. Naast zijn werk bij Devo heeft Mothersbaugh via zijn productiebedrijf Mutato Muzika muziek gemaakt voor televisieseries, films en videogames. Hij componeerde de muziek voor de 13 jaar durende animatieserie Rugrats en de drie verwante theaterfilms. Als solomuzikant heeft Mothersbaugh vier studioalbums uitgebracht: Muzik for Insomniaks, Muzik for the Gallery, Joyeux Mutato en The Most Powerful Healing Muzik in the Entire World. In 2004 ontving hij de Richard Kirk-prijs bij de BMI Film and TV Awards voor zijn bijdragen aan film- en televisiemuziek.
