Albert Christopher Ladesich, also known as Al Christy, is an American actor, advertising manager, and radio and television broadcaster. He was born in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Croatian parents who immigrated to the United States a few years earlier. He graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1937. It was there that he became interested in acting. Ladesich began his career under his father's leadership, selling insurance to the Armor Packing Company in Kansas City. He later served in World War II and upon demobilization returned to Kansas City and became a broadcaster for WDAF-FM radio. It was here that he took the stage name "Al Christy" for the first time. While on WDAF, Ladesich also appeared on various Kansas City-produced drama radio shows, most notably Jimmie Allen's Air Adventures, where he played the role of a mechanic. "Flash" Lewis on the 1946-47 show.
