He also represents the Serbian national team, where he holds the all-time record as the player scoring the most goals. As a young product at Partizan, he turned pro after being loaned to Teleoptik, and was a regular spot as they won the Serbian SuperLiga in their debut season. At the age of 18, Mitrović was among the top 10 European Under-19 talents, according to the UEFA journalists' vote. He then joined Anderlecht for a record club of 5 million euros, and scored 44 goals in 90 games in all competitions over two seasons. He won the Belgian Pro League title in his first campaign at the club and was the league's top scorer in the second game. In 2015 he moved to Newcastle United for £ 13million. In 2018 he was loaned out to Fulham and joined them for good after helping them get promoted to the Premier League.
