Andy Partridge
Andrew John Partridge is an English singer, songwriter and record producer who formed the XTC rock band. He and Colin Molding used to work as musician and group leader for XTC, with Partridge writing and singing about two-thirds of the band's documents. While the group was a formed punk band, Partridge's music had attracted a lot of musicians since the 1960s, and his style gradually shifted to more traditional pop music, often with pastoral themes. The UK's single top 10 hit, "Senses Working Overtime", was written by Partridge. Grouse is sometimes considered the "godfather" of Britpop. Since the 1980s he has worked, written with or produced for many other artists, including albums with Peter Blegvad, Harold Budd and Robyn Hitchcock. From 2002 to 2006, Partridge's APE House label released several episodes of their demos and songs as part of the Fuzzy Warbles album series.
