Ann Savage is an American television and film actress. She is best known for her role as the woman who smokes a cigarette in the critically acclaimed film noir Detour. She starred in more than 20 B-movies from 1943 to 1946. Leaving the film industry in the mid-1950s, Savage appeared on television from time to time and worked for industrial filmmakers. and inspired from the 1950s to 1970s. She has had a number of lives appearing at film festivals, most notably the Roundabout screenings. In 2007, she was cast by director Guy Maddin as her mother in My Winnipeg, "a role that won her an Oscar and introduced her to loads of new fans."
