Anthony Fokker
Anton Herman Gerard "Anthony" Fokker is a Dutch aviation pioneer, airline entrepreneur, aircraft designer and aircraft manufacturer. He is best known for the fighters he made in Germany during WWI such as the unique Eindecker aircraft, the Dr.1 triplets, and the D.VII biplane. After the Treaty of Versailles banned Germany from manufacturing planes, Fokker moved his business to the Netherlands. Here his company was responsible for building a wide range of successful aircraft, including the three-engined Fokker F.VII / 3m, a successful mid-war passenger plane. He passed away in New York in 1939. Many writers have recently argued that he has personal charisma but is immoral in business and a controversial figure.
