José Antonio Domínguez Bandera, known by his stage name Antonio Banderas, is a Spanish actor, director, producer and singer. He has received numerous awards, including the Cannes Award for Best Actor and the European Film Award for Best Actor, as well as nominations for the Tony Award, an Oscar, two Primetime Emmy Awards and five Golden Globe Awards. Banderas began his acting career with a series of films directed by Pedro Almodóvar in the 1980s, then appeared in several Hollywood movies, such as Philadelphia, Interview with the Vampire, Desperado, Assassins, Evita and The Mask of. Zorro. He has also appeared in the Spy Kids franchise and voiced Puss in Boots in the Shrek series as well as his side film The Puss in Boots. In 2003, Banderas debuted in US theaters as Guido Contini in Nine, which was nominated for a Tony Award and won the Drama Desk.

The Spanish actor is known for his roles in films such as The Mask of Zorro, SPY kids, Philadelphia, Assassins and Desperado. He also voiced the character Puss in Boots in Shrek Sequels and in the 2011 Puss in Boots movie.
He had a promising football career until he broke his leg at the age of 14. He then began to act as an actor, mainly in the theater, and in 1982 he made his film debut in Pedro Almodovar's The Passionate Maze.
In 2003, he won the World Prize for Theater and Dramatic Discussion for his role as Guido Contini in the musical Nine.
He married actress Melanie Griffith in May 1996, and the couple had a daughter named Stella together before their divorce in 2014. He was also married to Ana Leza from 1987 to 1996.
