Azie Faison Jr., sometimes known as "AZ", is a former American drug trafficker and businessman who rose to prominence during the War on Drugs as a fish dealer in New York City. His five years of criminal rule ended at the age of 26. Faison was born in New York and began selling drugs in his twenties, quickly becoming a wholesaler in the Harlem neighborhood. He expanded his drug business across town and included his childhood friend Rich Porter and partner Alpo Martinez, the duo who were instrumental in the ups and downs of Faison. After retiring in 1990, Faison turned into a conscious rapper and businessman, advising poor neighborhood youth to stay away from the lure of drug trafficking. He formed the hip-hop group MobStyle, where he released an album as a member in the 1990s, as well as released as a solo.
