Bal Gangadhar Tilak, born Keshav Gangadhar Tilak, is an Indian nationalist, teacher and independent activist. It is a third of the Lal Bal Pal trilogy. Tilak was the first leader of the Indian independence movement. The British colonial government called him "the father of Indian troubles". He also received the title "Lokmanya", which means "accepted by everyone". Mahatma Gandhi called him "the creator of modern India". Tilak was one of Swaraj's earliest and fervent supporters and an extremist in Indian consciousness. He is known for his saying in Marathi: "Swarajya is my innate right and I will have it!". He formed a close coalition with many leaders of the Indian Parliament, including Bipin Chandra Pal, Lala Lajpat Rai, Aurobindo Ghose, V.O. Chidambaram Pillai and Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
