William Bartlett Peet is an American children's book illustrator, writer, and animator for The Walt Disney Animation Studio. Peet joined Disney in 1937 and first worked on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs towards the end of production. Gradually, his participation in Disney films and shorts increased, and he remained there until the development of The Jungle Book. An argument with Walt Disney over the direction of the project resulted in a permanent personal break-up. Peet's later career as a writer and illustrator for numerous children's books including Capyboppy, The Wump World, The Whingdingdilly, The Ant and the Elephant, and Cyrus the Insinkable Serpent.
