Brett Aarion Cecil is an American professional baseball pitcher and independent player. He played in the Major League baseball tournament for the Toronto Blue Jays and St. Louis Cardinals. Cecil was drafted as the 38th overall in the 2007 MLB Blue Jays Draft. He pitched for DeMatha Catholic High School and Maryland Terrapins at the University of Maryland, College Park. In the summer of 2005, he pitched Silver Spring-Takoma Thunderbolts in Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball and was the first and only single pitcher in tournament history. He made his first professional appearance in a professional class A tournament for the Auburn Doubledays in 2007. In 2008 he was promoted to the Dunedin Blue Jays, then to the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats, and finally to the Triple-A Syracuse. Chiefs.
