Charles Robert Band is an American director and producer known for his horror comedies. His most popular films are from the Puppet Master series and the Subspecies series, from his company Full Moon Features. Before Full Moon Features, his former agency Empire Pictures made films like the classic Ghoulies and Re-Animator hits. One of the few non-horror movies he's made is Prehysteria! the trio, produced by his family company Moonbeam Entertainment. The band started performing in the 1970s with a company called Charles Band Productions. The group was dissatisfied with the distribution of their films, leading to their departure from Empire Pictures. The group formed Empire in the 1980s. This allowed the Band to distribute their movies in their own way. Soon, Empire will be partnering with Wizard Video. Empire will continue to produce 12 motion pictures and 12 live video movies each year.
