Charles Goodnight, also known as Charlie Goodnight, is an American breeder from the American West, perhaps the most famous breeder in Texas. He is sometimes referred to as "the father of Texas Panhandle". Essay and historian J. Frank Dobie once said that Goodnight "was almost as tall as any other cowboy in history." In 1955 he was inducted into the Western Hall & Museum of Western Heritage at the National Cowboy Museum.
