Chris Liebing is a technical DJ, music producer, radio presenter and founder of the CLR label. In the early 1990s, Liebing was active on the Frankfurt music scene. He opened the spinclub technology club in 1994 and worked at the Eye Q record label in Frankfurt. He founded his first label, “Audio” in 1996, then CLR in 1999. In 2004, he released his philosophical book Evolution, on which it took two years to work. The album has been described by CMJ New Music Report as "a technical album to struggle with". In 2005, he collaborated with Speedy J on the album Collabs 3000: Metalism published by Novamute. The album was described by Billboard as "one of the best original electronic music collections of the year". In 2009, he launched the CLR podcast, which is published every Monday through iTunes and the CLR website. The podcast is voiced by Liebing and features guest remixes from a variety of technical DJs. Among the most notable guests was Martin Gore of Depeche Mode.
