Conrad Anker is an American climber, mountaineer, and author. He was the team leader of The North Face climbing team for 26 years until 2018. In 1999, he located the body of George Mallory on Everest as a member of the team at the search for the remains of the climber brother. Anker suffered a heart attack from the widow's creator in 2016 while attempting to climb the Lunag Ri alongside David Lama. Anker was transported by air ambulance to Kathmandu, where he had ambulatory angioplasty with a stent placed in his anterior descending artery near his left side. After that, he quit climbing at high altitudes, but otherwise he continued with his work. He lives in Bozeman, Montana.
