He has played in the Major League baseball tournament for the Seattle Mariners, Boston Red Sox, San Francisco Giants, Oakland Athletics and Kansas City Royals throughout his 14 years, primarily in midfield. Henderson is best known for his home two-to-two hit that he achieved at the top of the ninth inning of Game 5 of the 1986. US Confederation Championship Series. He helped teams of the World Series four times in his career - Boston in 1986 and Oakland between 1988 and 1990, Oakland winning the championship in 1989. His uncle Joe Henderson played 16 MLB games as a pitcher in the mid-1970s
