John Donald Imus Jr., also simply known as Imus, is an American radio personality, television presenter, recording artist and author. His radio show Imus in the Morning aired on various radio stations and digital platforms across the country until 2018. In 1968, he started his first radio job, at KUTY, Palmdale, in California. Three years later, he won his morning radio station at WNBC, New York. Imus was fired by WNBC in 1977, then rehired in 1979, remained on the station until she left the airwaves in 1988, when her program transferred to WFAN, which took over. WNBC frequency is 660 kHz. After Howard Stern's success with the national collaboration, Imus in the Morning adopted a similar model in 1993. During his subsequent career, Imus was called a "shock." He was sacked by CBS Radio in April 2007 after he described the Rutgers University women's basketball team as "diaper hoes."
