Hail the Sun is an American post-hardcore band from Chico, California. Founded in 2009. The group now includes singer-drummer Donovan Melero, lead guitarist Shane Gann, rhythm guitarist Aric Garcia and bassist John Stirrat. They are known for their eclectic progressive rock and math rock, as well as their traditional elements of screaming and post-hardcore. They released their first studio album, POW! Right In the Kisser! And EP, Elephantitis, became independent before signing with Blue Swan Records the following year. The band released their second studio album, Wake, in 2014. In 2016, the band left the label, signed with Equal Vision Records, and released their third studio album, Culture Scars on June 17, 2016, ranked No. 38 Billboard Top. Rock Albums Chart. In 2017, the group released their second EP, Secret Wars, which was to critical acclaim and noted for the group's harsher and more technical post-production sound.
