Pagitt is the founding pastor of Solomon's Porch in southern Minneapolis and general manager of Vote Common Good. During weekly “gatherings” at Solomon's Porch, instead of traditional sermons, Pagitt facilitates dialogue, encourages questions, and congregation participation. Pagitt founded the Emerging Village in 1999, a friendship between missionary church leaders around the world and the leading architect of the emerging church discussion. He sees the emerging movement not as an organization but as a "incubator center" that has influenced hundreds of organizations by inspiring new ways of thinking about the Christian faith. In recent years, he has advocated for what is known as "generous Christianity" through participating in the Cana Initiative / Convergence.
