Platz performs in many styles and genres including, but not limited to: Jazz, America, World, Rock, and Classical. Among other groups, Platz is currently a member of Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Carrie Rodriguez, as well as the global group Asefa. In addition to numerous radio appearances and touring with Rodriguez's band, Platz has made several television appearances, including appearances on PBS Austin City Limits. Several of his groups have received awards on the New York Times, Boston Globe, Time Out and Village Voice. Throughout her career, Platz has co-directed two improvised music trilogy, FourMinusOne and Fat Little Bastard.
