George Gipp, nicknamed "The Gipper", is a college football player at the University of Notre Dame under the direction of head coach Knute Rockne. Gipp was chosen as Notre Dame's first all-American Walter Camp and played a number of roles, particularly full-back, full-back, and full-back.
