Heather Michele O'Rourke is an American child actress. She first appeared after being discovered by director Steven Spielberg during a visit to MGM studios. Spielberg quickly invited her to join the horror film Poltergeist as Carol Anne Freeling, and O'Rourke was recognized for her performance. She then reconstituted the role in the second and third season. O'Rourke is also recognized for her television work and appeared in recurring roles in Happy Days from 1982 to 1983, on Webster in 1983, as well as in the Surviving television series from 1985. During her career, O ' Rourke was nominated for six Young Artist Awards, winning one for his role in Webster and appearing in a total of three films and twelve television series.
