Joseph Hilaire Pierre René Belloc is an Anglo-French writer and historian and one of Britain's most prolific writers at the turn of the 20th century. Belloc is also an orator, poet, sailor, satirist, writer, soldier and political activist. His Catholic faith had a strong impact on his writings. He was president of the Oxford Union and then a Member of Parliament of Salford South from 1906 to 1910. He was a recognized dissident, with some enduring feuds. Belloc naturalized English in 1902 while retaining French citizenship. His works include religious poetry and children's comics. Her widely sold children's warning stories include "Jim, who ran away from his nurse, and was eaten by a lion" and "Matilda, who lied to burned to death ". He has written biographies and numerous travel books, including "The Road to Rome". He has also collaborated with G. K. Chesterton in a number of works.
