Ivor Cutler
Ivor Cutler is a Scottish poet, singer, songwriter, musician, artist and comedian. He is known to perform regularly on the BBC, and in particular for the numerous recordings of John Peel's influential late-night radio show of the same name and later of Andy Kershaw's show. He appeared in the 1967 film Magical Mystery Tour by The Beatles and in the television shows of Neil Innes. Cutler has also written books for children and adults and is a teacher at A. S. Neill's Summerhill School and for 30 years at schools in central London. He told Andy Kershaw on his radio show that he also teaches individual poetry. During live performances, Cutler is often cushioned on a harmonium. Phyllis King appeared on several of his records, and for several years was part of his concerts. She usually reads short sentences but also reads a few short stories. The two starred in a BBC series King Cutler, in which they performed their documentaries together and individually.
