Jani Golob is a Slovenian composer, violinist, composer and teacher. His musical opus is typically classical, pop and jazz. Golob has composed operas, ballets, orchestral works, chamber and vocal music, as well as numerous Slovenian music and music for television and advertising. His most important works are probably three operas: Krpan's Mare, Medeja and The Capital of Love; and others such as Four Slovenian Folk Songs, Concerto for Violin and Orchestra and Baptism at the Savica Ballet. He is best known for his contributions to the Slovenian pop music scene. His internationally acclaimed work "Planica Slow Motion Theme" bears an unofficial name, a track played in the annual global slow motion tracks of the FIS Ski Jumping / Flying World Cup in Planica, Slovenia. Thanks to this tune, Golob has become famous all over the world.
