Jannik Sinner is an Italian professional tennis player. He is ranked 18th in the world by the Professional Tennis Association. At Roland Garros 2020, he becomes the youngest man to enter the men's singles quarter-finals since Novak Djokovic in 2006. He has won two ATP titles and became the youngest ATP title holder since 2008 when winning Sofia Open 2020. Sinner grew up in northern Italy, in the predominantly German-speaking region in South Tyrol. He was active in skiing, soccer and tennis as a child. After winning the national ski championship at the age of 8, Sinner switched to tennis at 13 and moved to the Italian Riviera to train with veteran coach Riccardo Piatti. Despite limited success as a junior, Sinner started playing professional tournaments at the age of 16 and became one of the few players to win multiple ATP Challenger Tour titles at the age of 17.
