James Orsen Bakker is an American television personality, businessman and convicted fraudster. He hosted the PTL Club television show with his then wife Tammy Faye from 1974 to 1989. He also developed Heritage USA, a former Christian theme park in Fort Mill, South Carolina. In the late 1980s, Bakker resigned in an attempt to conceal funds hidden from church secretary Jessica Hahn over rape allegations. Subsequent disclosures of accounting fraud lead to crimes, convictions, jail time, and divorce. Bakker then remarried and returned to evangelism, establishing Morningside Church in Blue Eye, Missouri. He hosts the Jim Bakker Show, which focuses on the end times and the second coming of Christ while promoting emergency survival products. He has written a number of books, including I Was Sai and Time Has Come: How to Prepare Right Now for the Epic Events to Come.
