John Melchior Bosco, commonly known as Don Bosco [ˈdɔm ˈbɔsko, bo-], which in Italian means "Father", has been an Italian Catholic priest, educator and writer since the 19th century. While working in Turin, where the population suffers from the negative effects of industrialization and urbanization, he has dedicated his life to improving and educating street children and teenagers.
