John James Faso Jr. is an American lawyer and politician who served as the United States representative to the 19th Congressional District of New York from 2017 to 2019. Faso was first elected to office in 2016. As a Republican, Faso previously represented District 102 on the New York State Council from 1987. in 2002 and served as the Council's Minority Leader from 1998 to 2002. Faso ran for president of the Council. State Council, New York State in 2002 and New York Governor in 2006, but failed to gain the upper hand in both races. He was defeated when he was re-elected to Congress in November 2018 by Democrat Antonio Delgado.
