John William Mauchly is an American physicist who, together with J. Presper Eckert, designed ENIAC, the first all-purpose digital digital computer, as well as the EDVAC, BINAC and UNIVAC I, the first commercially available computer. Made in the United States. Together they founded the first computer company, Eckert - Mauchly Computer Corporation, and developed basic computer concepts including storage programs, subroutines and programming languages.
