Justinus Soni "Justin" Fashanu was an English footballer who played for many clubs from 1978 to 1997. His first clubs were known to be gay and later came out to the public. His career, becoming the first openly gay professional footballer. He was also the first black footballer to receive a £ 1million transfer fee, moving from Norwich City to Nottingham Forest in 1981, but with little success as a player thereafter, although he continued to play at a high level until 1994. After moving to the United States in 1998, he was questioned by police when a 17-year-old boy accused him of sexual assault. He was charged and an arrest warrant issued for him in Howard County, MD on April 3, 1998, but he left his apartment. According to his suicide note, fearing that he would not get a fair trial because of his homosexuality, he fled to England and committed suicide in London in May 1998. Sex is due to consensus.
