Christopher Houston Carson, also known as Kit Carson, is an American pioneer. He is a fur trapper, nature guide, Indian agent, and US military officer. He became a frontier legend in his own life through biographies and articles, and exaggerated versions of his feats have become the subject of flamboyant novels. His inferior nature relied on confirmed reports of his fearlessness, combat skills, perseverance, and a profound effect on America's western expansion. . Although he was famous throughout his life, historians wrote years later that Kit Carson didn't like, didn't want or even fully understood the fame he experienced in his life. Carson left his home in rural Missouri at the age of 16 to become a Mountain Man and trap the Man in the West. In the 1830s he accompanied Ewing Young on an expedition to Mexico in California and undertook animal trap expeditions to the Rocky Mountains. He lives between the Arapaho and Cheyenne tribes.
